What is it?

This is the new Porsche 911 Carrera S, tested here with the world’s first manual seven-speed gearbox. The manual is based on the PDK alternative, but has slightly altered ratios in third and seventh to benefit fuel consumption and maintain pulling power in top gear even at relatively low speeds.

Helping you to select the right gear from a crowded gate, a sequential shift lock makes it impossible to select seventh from anything other than fifth or sixth.

First Official Photos of New Peugeot 208 Supermini

The brand-new 2012 Peugeot 208 wasn't supposed to make its official appearance until later this week, but the first photos of the French supermini have already hit the interwebs.

The 208 is the successor to the Peugeot 207that has been in production since 2006, and it will compete against the likes of the Volkswagen Polo and Fiat Punto in the highly popular in Europe, B-segment.

Ford-Lincoln-Mercury Will Get EPS on 2012

Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury models will be equipped with EPS (electric power steering) between 80% and 90% on 2012 as announced by Ford. With this EPS system, the cars will get improvement for the overall fuel economy, performance and reliability of the Ford model line-up.

Opens Formal Investigation on Chevy Volt and Li-ion Batteries

Earlier this year, a Chevrolet Volt caught fire while stationary at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Winsconsin facility car park, three weeks after it had been subjected to a side-impact crash test on May 12.
